The Association of Corporate Patent Counsel has planned a Washington DC Regional Meetup on Thursday, April 16, 2026. This meetup will start with a 1-hour CLE presentation from our generous Sponsor - Morgan Lewis. Following the CLE, there will be a reception on the rooftop.

CLE Presentation: An Update on Non-Practicing Entity Litigation Post “Settled Expectations” at the PTAB
Morgan Lewis will present a cutting edge CLE regarding NPE patent litigation. Our presenters, Natalie Bennett and Matthew Rizzolo, will provide an update on USPTO Director Guidance on Discretionary Denials of petitions for inter partes review and the impact of such Guidance in the district courts and the International Trade Commission. The discussion will rely on both statistical data and anecdotal observations to approach defending cases brought by NPEs, especially campaigns backed by litigation funders.
